Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pass Red Seal Exam (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal information when you use our website and mobile apps. We handle your information carefully and follow Canadian privacy law.
1. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run your account and help you prepare for your exam:
Account details — email address, display name (if you provide one), and sign-in details managed by our sign-in provider.
Email preferences — whether you have agreed to receive optional tip and product emails, and when you last changed that choice.
Study activity — lessons you try, answers you submit, weak areas, practice exam scores, time spent studying, and any exam date you save.
Purchase records — which trade access you bought, when access starts and ends, payment reference details, and amounts paid. We do not store full credit card numbers.
Basic technical information — device and browser details needed to run the service and fix problems.
Usage and ad measurement information — things like cookies (or similar tools) and, if you have an account, a disguised form of your email used only to measure whether ads and sign-ups work (see sections 5 and 6).
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
Create and protect your account.
Provide lessons, progress tracking, readiness scores, and practice exams.
Process payments and manage your trade access.
Send account and purchase emails (see section 9).
If you opt in, send optional tip and product emails (see section 9).
Understand how the service is used and whether important steps succeed — such as creating an account or completing a purchase — including after someone arrives from an ad.
Improve content and fix technical problems.
Meet our legal obligations.
3. Where your data is stored
Your profile, study progress, learning content, payment records, and email preferences are stored in our application database with our database host.
Sign-in details are handled by our sign-in provider, which may store that information outside Canada. Your study records and other identifiable learner data stay in our application database.
Card payments are handled by our payment provider under industry security standards. Card numbers are not stored in our app.
Emails are sent through our email tools and an email delivery company. They use your email address and message content only to deliver the emails described in this policy.
Usage and ad measurement information may be processed by analytics and advertising partners. When we include an email for measurement, we send a disguised version rather than your plain email address whenever that data leaves our servers.
4. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with companies that help us run the service — for example hosting, sign-in, payments, email delivery, and analytics or advertising measurement. They may use your information only to provide those services for us and must protect it appropriately.
We may share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the public.
5. Analytics and advertising measurement
We use analytics tools to understand how people use our website and apps, and to measure important results such as account creation and purchases.
To measure results more accurately — including when someone starts from an online ad — we may share limited details with our analytics and advertising partners. If an email address is included for this purpose, it is shared in a disguised form so it cannot be read as a normal email address. On our website, that disguising may also happen in your browser before the data is sent.
We use this information only to measure and improve our ads and product. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use a disguised email to send promotional emails without your separate permission under the email rules below.
Optional analytics and advertising cookies on the website are controlled through our cookie banner (see section 6). Choosing Essential only, or turning those options off later, may make ad and conversion measurement less accurate.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
On our website we use cookies and similar tools in three groups:
Necessary — required to run the site securely (for example keeping you signed in). These stay on and are not offered as an opt-out in the banner.
Analytics — optional. Help us see which pages and study flows are useful.
Advertising — optional. Help us measure whether ads lead to sign-ups and purchases, including the measurement described in section 5.
6.1 Cookie banner and preferences
When you visit our website with analytics enabled, we show a cookie preferences card. You can accept optional cookies, choose Essential only, or customize analytics and advertising separately.
Until you choose, we treat optional analytics and advertising storage as off. After you choose, we remember your preference in your browser and apply it to our analytics and advertising tools.
You can change your mind anytime: open Cookie settings in the website footer, adjust the options, and save. Clearing site data in your browser will also clear the saved preference and may show the banner again.
Our mobile apps do not use this website cookie banner. In-app study and account features rely on your signed-in session. The advertising cookies described here apply to the website.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account and study data while your account is active so you can keep preparing for your exam.
You can delete your account anytime from Account settings in the app. We remove study progress and profile data promptly. Purchase records may be anonymized and kept where needed for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention reasons.
8. Your rights and choices
Under Canadian privacy law, you may:
See the personal information we hold about you through your account.
Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
Ask us to delete your account and related study data.
Stop optional marketing emails anytime — turn them off under Email preferences in Account settings, use Unsubscribe or Manage email preferences in a marketing email, or use your email app’s unsubscribe option when it is offered.
Manage analytics and advertising cookies through the cookie banner or Cookie settings in the website footer, or through your browser settings. Some measurement features may then work less accurately.
9. Email communications
We send two kinds of email. Both say who we are and go to your account email address.
Account and purchase emails — needed to run your account and orders. Examples include verifying your email, resetting your password, confirming a purchase or access, study guidance when access starts, reminders that paid access is ending soon, and confirmation when you delete your account. These do not need separate marketing permission and continue even if you turn marketing emails off.
Marketing emails — optional messages such as study tips, product news, new trade announcements, and gentle reminders to return to studying after a quiet period or after access ends. We send these only if you have clearly agreed, in line with Canadian anti-spam law.
Your choice — you can turn marketing emails on or off under Email preferences in Account settings. We save that choice with your account. Turning marketing off stops future promotional emails; it does not stop account and purchase emails.
How to unsubscribe — every marketing email includes Unsubscribe and Manage email preferences links. Unsubscribe works in one click and does not require you to sign in; we then turn marketing emails off for you. Many email apps also offer their own unsubscribe button.
You can turn marketing emails back on later in Account settings if you want them again.
10. Security
We use common security practices such as encrypted connections, access controls, and secure payment processing through our payment provider.
No online service is perfectly secure. Please use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private.
11. Children
Our service is for apprentices and adult learners preparing for trade certification exams. It is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. If you keep using the service after a change takes effect, that means you accept the updated policy.
13. Contact us
For privacy questions or data requests, email support@passredsealexam.ca. You can also delete your account in the app under Account settings.
